Personality:

To understand Hermes personality, it's important to look at just what Hermes is the god of. Which is many things! He's titled as the god of swiftness, but he's a patron to travelers, traders, and even tricksters. He's known most commonly known as the messenger of Olympus, but he also serves as a psychopomp with the role of leading souls to the Underworld. In short, he's a busy guy and that's not even scratching the surface of all his duties in traditional Greek myths.

This of course all translates to his portrayal in game. He speaks in a quick manner sounding like he's always got somewhere else to be, but it's light, jovial, perhaps even a touch impish at times. Which would make sense with his trickster ties. In game he's not even formally helping Zagreus (the main character) make his escape from the Underworld as it's a secret he's keeping from the rest of his Olympian family. It makes him seem by far one of the nicest in his family, given that the rest of them have Zagreus competing for their boons sometimes with a vindictive flair should they be the one scorned.

Instead Hermes keeps things professional (though he's not above offerings to gain his favor), but he is not without his own boastful godly attitude and pride at his incomparable speed. While you don't have to worry about Hermes getting into dick measuring contests with the other gods, you do absolutely have to stay out of his business. It's possible in game to eventually suss out Hermes sources and just who got him involved in this mess. Pretty obvious really with his repeated claims that he ONLY hands souls over to Charon, the Stygian boatman, and nothing more-- but still. When the jig is up he's quick to assert that him and Charon have gathered a lot of dirt on Zagreus, so he better keep his mouth shut. So he's less direct than the other gods, but you still don't want to get on his bad side or he will bring you down with him.

Hermes knows how to keep a secret himself though, even with his constantly running mouth. He's known to interrupt his siblings all the time and he actually takes no offense to being told not to talk while offering his boons. Something that is a perhaps a bit telling of his relationship with his family honestly. He's also ok with one sided conversations, but that's because of his professional associate the boatman. So to wrap up him up: He's a quick gabbing trickster god who is more friendly than anything devious, just don't go digging into his dirty laundry and everything will be alright.

[It's different this time when he wakes up, feeling an immediate change compared to before. He's... mortal? Powerless at the very least, but he's fairly certain it's more. Despite waking up somewhere new this time, it's the familiar pokeballs that tip him off that this is the same strange realm he visited once before. To think that not only could something trap gods here, but actually strip them of their powers. It was impressive really.

There's no time to think about it though before a fellow Rocket has come in and filled him in on some basics and more importantly that he's expected at training now. Hermes could only laugh, falling back on the bed he woke up on. How amusing that he would find himself here of all places! Well, he was the patron of thieves and gamblers. Whatever being was responsible for this must have known something of him. He holds up one finger to the other Rocket, still getting his laughter out of his system much to the others annoyance.]

A moment, a moment if you please my good chap. My good associate even!

[The Rocket didn't seem amused, but Hermes smile never faltered nor did he seemed intimidated by the other. He simply sat back up on his own relatively quick time.]

You're in luck, as I seem to have a sudden opening in my schedule. As I'm feeling charitable, I do suppose I can help you and yours out. Not that I think there is much choice in the matter, is there? Ah, you're lucky indeed. So yes, let's get this training over with. The faster the better I say.

[The Rocket starts open his mouth, looking towards the uniform Hermes has yet to put on. Hermes cuts him off before he even has a chance.]

Ah, after a quick change of course!
